eurofactura e.V. Is Here
The founding meeting on August 22, 2025, in Bielefeld marked the beginning of eurofactura – Verein zur Förderung der E-Rechnung in Europa e.V. This was followed by entry in the register of associations on November 11, 2025, and many months of intensive work behind the scenes. Now eurofactura has officially commenced operations.
From Community to Association
The idea of founding the association grew out of the ZUGFeRD community. For years, users, experts, software providers, and specialists have been exchanging ideas there on all aspects of e-invoicing. With the growing regulatory momentum surrounding mandatory e-invoicing, ViDA, and digital reporting, it became increasingly clear that the user and expert perspective needs a stronger institutional voice.
For while standards, legal requirements, and digital infrastructures in Europe are becoming ever more concrete, the need is growing at the same time for practical, interoperable, and connectable solutions that truly take into account the realities of different industries and businesses.
eurofactura was born out of this idea.
A Lot of Work Behind the Scenes
A great deal has happened since the founding. Over the past months, structures have been built, content developed, processes prepared, and numerous conversations held. Behind eurofactura lies a great deal of professional commitment, intensive coordination, and the shared conviction that the digital transformation of invoicing can only succeed if regulation, technology, and operational practice are brought more closely together.
Now the next phase begins: as of now, membership at eurofactura is officially available.
Competence Centers and Industry Centers
A central element of the association’s work will be the competence centers and industry centers.
In the competence centers, experts from fields such as standardization, technology, law, taxation, and process management work on cross-cutting professional topics relating to e-invoicing, interoperability, and digital reporting processes.
The industry centers, on the other hand, bring together the perspectives of users from different economic sectors and contribute concrete requirements from operational practice to the association’s work. The aim is to identify industry-specific challenges for e-invoicing at an early stage, to feed them into regulatory and technical developments in a structured way, and to provide users with concrete implementation recommendations.
Interested users, experts, companies, and associations are warmly invited to get actively involved and help shape the work of eurofactura in the industry and competence centers.
Collaboration with the ZUGFeRD Community
The connection to the ZUGFeRD community will remain a central element of the association’s work in the future as well.
We are particularly looking forward to working together with the ZUGFeRD community to help shape the next developer days on October 15 and 16, 2026, in Bielefeld.
In addition, eurofactura and the ZUGFeRD community are already working closely together within the framework of the ZFC Academy. The community’s training and continuing education offerings will in future take place with the support of eurofactura.
Further events, exchange formats, and activities are already being planned.
Help Shape the Future of E-Invoicing
The coming years will be decisive in determining how practical, interoperable, and future-proof digital invoicing and reporting systems in Europe will be. eurofactura wants to actively support this transformation – together with users, experts, companies, associations, and partners from all across Europe.
We look forward to the exchange of ideas, to new impulses, exciting discussions, and to the next steps that now lie ahead of us.
