eurofactura – Verein zur Förderung der E-Rechnung in Europa e.V. – is a user and expert association for e-invoicing. The association represents the user perspective and advocates for legal requirements, standards, and digital infrastructures that are designed for real-world use and take the actual needs of businesses into account.

The initiative to found eurofactura grew out of the ZUGFeRD community, which represents more than 10,000 users of electronic invoices. Within the association, users and recognized experts from the fields of standards, technology, law, and regulation work together to provide professional input for the further development of e-invoicing and to develop practical approaches for its implementation.

As a link between users, public administration, policymakers, and technology providers, eurofactura promotes exchange, strengthens the expert perspective, and supports the development of open, interoperable solutions – for efficient, fair, and accessible digital invoicing processes.

Purpose of the Association
eurofactura promotes paperless business processes and supports, in particular, the development, dissemination, and use of electronic invoices, from creation through electronic processing to legally compliant archiving. The association’s goal is to strengthen the interests of users of electronic invoices in Europe and to promote access to open, interoperable, and practical solutions.

Target Groups
Companies and self-employed individuals of all sizes, public and civil-society organizations, as well as their service providers in the field of finance and accounting.

Areas of Activity

• Participation in the analysis and development of digital standards in the field of e-invoicing
• Promotion of exchange between users, research, public administration, and technology providers
• Development and publication of tools and applications for electronic invoicing
• Establishment of open certification, validation, and interoperability standards for software solutions and professionals
• Organization of developer days, training sessions, and specialist events
• Advising policymakers, public administration, and institutions on the possible applications of electronic invoices
• Development of training standards
